Meet your guide at Groenplaats, next to the statue of Peter Paul Rubens, to begin an exploration of Antwerp’s unique character. The city is known for its port, brown cafés, street food, Red Light District, beer, and geneva gin.
The tour starts with a historical introduction to Groenplaats and Our Lady Cathedral, then continues to the Main Square for a tasting of the local beer De Koninck alongside local beer enthusiasts. You will then explore less-visited areas including the Meathalls, Red Light District, and the Port with its traditional bars. Here you'll enjoy a second beer while taking in views of the docks and harbor installations.
Returning to the center, you'll see the Steen fortress along the Scheldt River and pass by Antwerp’s streets featuring Madonna statues on nearly every corner. The tour includes a geneva gin tasting paired with local snacks.
The final part of the tour is around Our Lady Cathedral, where you will try three additional beers in local brown cafés while listening to music from 1970s bands like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. The tour concludes when you decide whether to continue socializing with the group and new friends.
